The remote-control and immobiliser systems are related but not identical. A key can therefore unlock the doors while still not being recognised for engine start.
The cause may be the transponder, reader antenna, synchronisation, steering lock, start-control module or battery voltage that is too low.
Before programming a new key, we read faults, test the spare key when available and check whether the vehicle authorises starting. This prevents blaming the key when another unit is responsible.
Correct diagnosis shows whether the remote needs repair, synchronisation is enough, another key must be programmed or the immobiliser system requires repair.
