When a control unit is replaced or equipment is added, the module usually needs coding so the vehicle recognises it. A part that fits physically will not necessarily work correctly without configuration.
Coding tells the vehicle which equipment is installed, while programming installs or updates software. Some manufacturers also require parameterisation, component protection, calibration or immobiliser synchronisation.
An incorrect setup can cause warning lights, disabled features, battery drain or communication faults. We therefore verify part numbers and save the previous configuration whenever possible.
